TNF fallout: Despite 65 points being scored in Detroit's entertaining 34-31 win over Green Bay, it was an average day for fantasy scoring. Here's a rundown:
Josh Jacobs surging, especially at the goal: He (18-66-3) punched in three short scores and totaled 24.6 fantasy points. He's been super since the bye. Older RBs continue to define the 2024 fantasy season. Tough to trust Packers' WR: No Green Bay receiver has made it to 60 targets on the year. Jayden Reed was limited to one look, and Christian Watson led the way with 11.4 fantasy points behind a 4-114-0 line. Detroit target tree widens: Tim Patrick's 6-43-2 breakout game is a nice story considering his injury history, but his emergence slightly lowers weekly expectations for the primary Detroit receivers.
Now for the injury report ...
The Bears didn't have D'Andre Swift (quad) or Roschon Johnson (concussion) at Thursday's practice. If both were to miss the game at San Francisco, the depth chart would drop down to Travis Homer. Sounds like Caleb Williams might be airing it out for three hours. DJ Moore (quad) also missed the past two days.
Breece Hall (knee) missed two days of practice, setting up a key Friday session. Braelon Allen is one of the most important contingency backups on the fantasy landscape.
Kenneth Walker III (ankle/calf) missed Thursday's work after a limited day on Wednesday. His Friday is critical as the Seahawks get ready for the key Arizona rematch. Zach Charbonnet is the backup. DK Metcalf (shoulder) also missed Thursday's practice.
Ladd McConkey was unstoppable Sunday against Atlanta, but he also suffered a knee injury to go with his lingering shoulder injury. He's had two limited practices, so monitor his Friday work.
DeVonta Smith (hamstring) had a full Thursday practice and is tracking to return Sunday against Carolina.
Jake Ferguson (concussion) had a full Thursday session and is trending positively for a return Monday against Cincinnati. CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) did not practice but he's confident that he'll be good to go.
We'll keep tabs on Ja'Marr Chase (ankle), who had a limited practice Thursday. The Bengals get extra prep time as they ready for a game at Jerry World on Monday.
Zamir White (quad) has not returned to practice and Alexander Mattison (ankle) has been limited, which sets up Sincere McCormick or maybe Ameer Abdullah to be deep-league sleepers at Tampa Bay. Jakobi Meyers (ankle) and Aidan O'Connell (illness) didn't practice Thursday.
Bucky Irving (hip/back) has looked every bit like a league-winner, but he missed the Wednesday and Thursday work. He practiced Friday, but it remains to be seen if he'll be limited at all in Week 14.
Dalton Kincaid (knee) and Keon Coleman (wrist) were both limited at Thursday's practice. Buffalo's wide target tree has made receiving production hard to project in 2024.
